Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/4 cup red onion, finely minced
1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (taste first, as salmon is salty)
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese into a medium mixing bowl.
Add the chopped smoked salmon, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced red onion, capers (if using), and black pepper to the bowl.
Use a fork or a hand mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until the dip is smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
Taste the dip and add a small pinch of salt if needed.
Transfer the smoked salmon dip to a serving bowl.
Chill for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve your creamy seafood spread with bagel chips, crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can fold in 2 tablespoons of sour cream or Greek yogurt with the cream cheese.
If you want an ‘Everything Bagel’ twist, sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over the top before chilling.
You can prepare this make ahead party dip up to 2 days in advance; cover tightly and refrigerate.
