Make this easy, no-bake dessert dip that captures the flavor of classic pecan pie using a creamy base and a sweet caramel pecan topping. It is a simple holiday appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Dippers (graham crackers, apple slices, pretzels)

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together in a medium bowl until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until just combined. Spread this mixture into a shallow serving dish.
  3. For the topping, combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and chopped pecans in a small saucepan.
  4. Cook the topping mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter melts and the mixture thickens slightly, about 3 to 5 minutes. Do not boil rapidly.
  5. Pour the warm caramel pecan topping evenly over the cream cheese base.
  6. Chill the dip for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve cold with your choice of dippers.

Notes

  • You can make the cream cheese base up to one day ahead and keep it covered in the refrigerator. Add the topping just before serving.
  • For a richer flavor, toast the chopped pecans lightly in a dry skillet before adding them to the caramel sauce.
  • This dip pairs well with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, apple slices, or sturdy pretzels.
