Make rich, fudgy strawberry brownies that swirl chocolate decadence with bright strawberry flavor. This recipe creates moist, dense bars perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • For the Strawberry Swirl: 1/2 cup strawberry jam or preserves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until fully combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing only until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the diced fresh strawberries and white chocolate chips, if using.
  6. Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Dollop small spoonfuls of the strawberry jam over the batter. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the jam into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
  8. Spread the remaining brownie batter over the top of the swirled layer.
  9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. The edges should look set, and a toothpick inserted near the center should come out with moist crumbs attached, not wet batter, for a fudgy texture.
  10. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment overhang. Cut into squares.

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder in this homemade strawberry brownies recipe.
  • If you prefer a cream cheese topping, prepare a simple glaze using 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese, and 1 tablespoon milk; drizzle over cooled brownies.
  • Ensure your strawberries are diced small so they distribute evenly through the batter.
