Make this warm, gooey, and cheesy pizza dip with a cream cheese base. It is a customizable, crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for game days or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices (or other desired toppings)
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or a similar sized oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and fully combined. This is your base layer.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spoon the pizza or marinara sauce over the cream cheese layer, spreading it out gently to cover the base.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce layer.
  6. Distribute your chosen toppings, such as pepperoni and olives, over the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with bread, crackers, or vegetables.

Notes

  • For a slow cooker version, layer ingredients as directed in a small slow cooker and cook on low for 2 hours or on high for 1 hour, until hot.
  • You can substitute the marinara sauce with Alfredo sauce for a white pizza dip variation.
  • Add cooked, crumbled sausage or cooked ground beef for a heartier dip.
