Make juicy, crispy shrimp quickly in your air fryer. This easy recipe uses garlic butter seasoning and cooks in under 15 minutes, perfect for a weeknight dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen and thawed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 lemon, cut into wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely and pat them very dry with paper towels. If using fresh shrimp, ensure they are peeled and deveined, then pat them very dry.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  3. Add the dried shrimp to the bowl and toss until every piece is evenly coated with the garlic butter mixture.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary to maintain crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time. The shrimp are done when they turn pink and opaque.
  7. Remove the shrimp from the air fryer. Immediately toss them with the grated Parmesan cheese until coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • For the juiciest results, do not overcook the shrimp. Check them starting at 6 minutes.
  • To cook frozen shrimp directly, increase the cook time by 3-5 minutes and cook at 380°F (195°C), shaking often until cooked through.
  • This recipe is low carb and keto friendly when served without starchy sides.
