Make this incredibly smooth, 5-minute chocolate dip that tastes like rich brownie batter. It is perfect for dipping fresh fruit, crunchy pretzels, or cookies for a quick dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate chips in a medium, microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer around the edges. Do not let it boil rapidly.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips. Let it sit undisturbed for 3 minutes to allow the chocolate to melt.
  4. Whisk the mixture gently until it becomes smooth and glossy. This forms a basic ganache.
  5. Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture.
  6. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to beat the mixture until it is completely smooth, creamy, and lump-free. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  7. Taste the dip. If you prefer it sweeter, mix in the optional powdered sugar until combined.
  8. Serve immediately as a warm chocolate fondue recipe, or chill for 30 minutes for a thicker, scoopable creamy chocolate dip.

Notes

  • For a perfect finish when coating items, ensure your cream cheese is fully softened to prevent lumps in the dip.
  • This recipe works well as a dipping chocolate for strawberries or as a party dessert dip idea.
  • If the dip thickens too much upon chilling, microwave it for 10-15 seconds to restore a smooth consistency.
