Make this creamy, savory Olive Garden Chicken copycat recipe easily in your slow cooker. This dump and go chicken dinner is perfect for a low effort weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and shred them using two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker. Stir well to coat the chicken completely.
  7. If the sauce seems too thin, you can cook uncovered on high for the last 30 minutes to allow some liquid to evaporate, or stir in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of cold water during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  8. Serve hot over cooked pasta, rice, or alongside breadsticks. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce consistency, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, or add a small block of cream cheese during the last hour of cooking for extra creaminess.
  • This shredded chicken slow cooker recipe freezes well. Cool completely, then store in an airtight container for up to three months.
  • Serve this Italian inspired slow cooker dish with fettuccine pasta for a true chicken alfredo slow cooker style experience.
