Ingredients
Scale
1 box (15.25 oz) Yellow Cake Mix
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
2 large Eggs
1 cup Chocolate Chips (for basic variation)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
In a large bowl, combine the entire box of dry cake mix, the melted butter, and the eggs. Mix with a spatula until just combined into a thick dough. Do not overmix.
If using add-ins like chocolate chips, gently fold them into the dough now.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For Peanut Butter Swirl Bars: Mix 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter with 1/4 cup powdered sugar. Drop spoonfuls over the dough before baking and swirl gently with a knife.
For Snickerdoodle Bars: Use a yellow or white cake mix. After pressing the dough into the pan, mix 2 tablespoons of white sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the top before baking.
For a richer, chewier texture, substitute the 1/2 cup of melted butter with 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil.
