Ingredients

  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup egg noodles
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine chicken broth, shredded chicken, carrots, celery, onion, thyme, and bay leaf in a large pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
  4. Add the egg noodles to the pot. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the noodles are done to your liking.
  5. Remove the bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
