Ingredients
Scale
1 head garlic
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch oven-safe skillet or small baking dish.
Roast the garlic: Slice about 1/4 inch off the top of the garlic head to expose the cloves. Drizzle with a little olive oil, wrap loosely in foil, and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until soft. Let it cool slightly.
Squeeze the soft roasted garlic pulp into a medium bowl. Discard the skins.
Add the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the garlic.
Mix all ingredients together until they are fully combined and smooth.
Spread the mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
Brush the top lightly with melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the top is lightly golden brown.
Serve immediately with slices of crusty bread or crackers for dipping.
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, mix 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh parsley into the dip before baking.
If you do not want to roast garlic, substitute with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
This dip is excellent served inside a hollowed-out loaf of sourdough bread (a bread bowl dip).
