Make a family favorite weeknight chicken dinner with this simple, juicy baked ranch chicken recipe featuring a savory, cheesy crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the ranch seasoning mix, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth. This is your ranch coating.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the ranch coating evenly over the top of each chicken breast.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the shredded cheddar cheese and panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the cheese and breadcrumb mixture over the ranch coating on each chicken breast. Drizzle the melted butter lightly over the topping.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the topping is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let the juicy baked chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can use chicken thighs instead of breasts; adjust baking time as needed.
  • If you want a crispier coating, place the dish under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • This recipe works well as a one pan chicken dinner when you add vegetables like broccoli or green beans to the dish around the chicken before baking.
